Conversion

"Are you a Christian? I mean: a born-again Christian? Yes, I'm asking: are you a believer? That is, have you already prayed "the prayer"? The prayer that you give your life to Him, you know... What don't you understand: have you, or have you not been filled with the Holy Spirit??? Just tell me: does your heart belong to Jesus? And do you bear fruits too, "fruits in keeping with repentance", you know? Cos' it's not enough to... ah, why do I even bother? You probably aren't one of the elect anyway!"

We tend to speak or think along these lines , don't we? And they are good lines too: full of content. Only, we don't always understand that content. What does it mean to convert, or repent, according to the Bible? What does it mean in our own lives? Is it something we do, or something God does? Is it a single event, or does it happen several times? And anyway: do only Christians convert, or is it a universal experience? We are going to be wrestling with questions like these at my workshop, in a bit more interactive way (than I usually do).

About the workshop leader: I am a Reformed pastor in Kiskunhalas, a town in southern Hungary. I have been part of MEKDSZ for more than 11 years now, and I hope I'll always be! I work with the youth mostly, for whom I have a heart. It is my conviction that the Word of God is interesting beyond imagination, and that the Son of God loves us beyond imagination. I live and work to pass on these two truths - I hope, every once in a while, I succeed.
